Watercolor is LIVE!

Christmas came early!

Thank Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I can't do preorders, and I have to have links for my blog tour participants...

But I couldn't wait to share it with you guys anyway--squee!!!

Watercolor is now everywhere!

On Amazon

(Isn't that a fun graphic?) I tell you guys, revising Watercolor these last several weeks reminded me of my very first days writing novels. It was my third complete book, and it has all that early joy and freshness.

It was also the book I wrote right before The Truth About Faking, and it shares a lot of the same humor. The heroes also have some similar qualities. Faking is more innocent than Watercolor, but you might notice a few minor similarities.

So without further ado, Grab your copy today, and be sure to let me know what you think!

WATERCOLOR Teaser Tuesday & a Cover Reveal!

We are in the home stretch leading up to the release of Watercolor on Oct. 3!!!

Who's ready for another teaser? >this girl!!!<

On Goodreads
“Wait...” I remembered falling asleep in Julian's arms last night, how good it felt. His lips on my skin. “Just be quiet!”

He grinned and climbed through my window, dropping softly to the floor. I sat facing him, unsure what to do now.

“You’re lucky I had that assignment.” I let him lace our fingers. “Or I’d have been asleep.”

His blue eyes flickered to mine, and it was all I could do to stay where I was. “Would you have got up and let me in?” he asked.

I didn’t hesitate. “Yes.”

We sat for a few seconds not speaking. I couldn’t help it—I had to cover a yawn with my hand.

“You tired?” he asked, pushing one of my curls back.

“It’s almost midnight.”

“Get in,” he said, standing up. “I’ll sit beside you til you fall asleep.”

I watched as he slipped off the long-sleeved flannel shirt he wore, my brow lining as I admired his physique, standing there in only a white tee. I went to my bed, but I stopped. “You want to climb in for a few minutes?”

He grinned. “I was hoping you’d say that.”

We slid between the covers, and I turned so my back was pressed into his chest. One of his arms went around my waist, and the other was under my head. I felt him kiss the top of my shoulder, and warmth flooded my body.

“Will you fall asleep?” I asked.

“Probably.” His breath against my neck made me shiver. “But I can set my phone to vibrate early.”
He took his arms away, and I scooted around to watch him set the alarm. He slipped it in his back pocket and looked at me.

“It’s nice being here with you,” he said, touching my cheek with the back of his finger.

“I like you being here with me.”

His palm went to my face and kissed me softly. I kissed him back, and he rolled above me kissing me deeper as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I felt his hand slowly trace down the front of my nightshirt. My heartbeat picked up, and I lay back.

Watercolor will be LIVE everywhere Oct. 3!

Amazing blogger turned writer-friend Kelly Polark has a FAB new picture book out called ROCKABET: CLASSIC EDITION, and to celebrate, we're all putting together DREAM BANDS...

Here's the scoop:

If I could choose any band members from any bands to form the best band ever, these would be my rockin' picks:
Kelly P.

Band Name: A Hot Mess

First Gig: The Cosmopolitan in Vega$, baby, yeah!!!

Lead vocals: Ryan Adams of Whiskeytown and his solo band

Lead guitarist: Ryan, of course

Bass guitarist: Flea of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, because that would be crazy!

Drums: Neil Peart (I don't care if he's already gone, the man was a machine... A machine!)

I know. My dream band really would be a hot mess--primarily because my lead singer is such a diva. But I discovered he has the supernatural ability to counter Nora Jones's soul-sucking powers...

Anyway, back to Kelly's FAB book.

On Amazon
ROCKABET: CLASSIC EDITION can currently be purchased online at Amazon or at select bookstores. Hardcover books will be available at various online retailers and stores in October.

Kelly Polark is also the author of BIG SISTER, BABY BROTHER and the upcoming HOLD THE MUSTARD! from Meegenius. Come visit her on Facebook and Twitter! Check out her website and celebrity book recommendation site, Book Recs of the Rock and Famous.

READING ROCKS!

Kelly is the best! Here's wishing her all the success in the world~

Cinderella's a Witch and you can #WIN!

Happy Thursday, reader-friends!

I'm so excited to share one of my first blogging-writer-friends RaShelle Workman's new book with you today!

RaShelle is a master of fairytale re-imaginings. Check it out~

It's here. Volume 2 in the Cindy Chronicles ~ Witch Land ~ is available.

On Amazon
Cinderella is a witch!

Being able to do magic is one thing, but doing it in another land is... strange.

Summary for the whole series:

Life sucks.

Possessing magic sucks.

What doesn’t suck? Fashion, Cindy's boyfriend Gabe, and her best friend, Snow White.

Cindy (Cinderella…shhh, don’t tell) was born a witch. It’s part of who she is. But there’s more to her than that. She loves deeply. And has a big heart. She’d do anything for those she cares about, including risk her own life to save theirs.

When her fairy godmother demands she leave Salem, Massachusetts and return to the land she was born to rule, she has two options. Tell her fairy godmother no, and seal a death sentence on complete strangers. Or, leave all she’s ever known behind, including the love of her life, for an unknown land she’s fated to save.

So, yeah, life sucks.

But Cindy is determined to change that.

Wow... so the cover is gorgeous, and the whole series sounds amazing!!! Get your copy today!

Now for that teaser (Fans of Undertow will enjoy this one...):

On Goodreads
I turned and walked down the long balcony and around to a part of the house I’d never explored.

Another hallway led westward to what had to be the master suite. A door at the end was ajar, and as I got closer, I could hear a voice coming from what sounded like an individual moving quickly.

“I can’t believe you didn’t wake me,” the voice said. It was a woman’s, and as I crept closer, it sounded like Ms. LaSalle’s!

“I wasn’t awake myself,” Mr. Kyser said, and I could hear his smile.

Pressing my eyes closed, knowing it was a huge risk, I stepped forward so I could peek through the crack near the hinges. I had to know if my ears were right.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Ms. LaSalle in the bedroom wearing only a man’s dress shirt. Her long, dark hair slid around her shoulders as she hastily collected a slip, pantyhose, one shoe. “Where’s my dress?” she asked.

My eyes went wide, and my hand flew to my mouth. Julian was right—his mom was seeing someone… and it was his dad! It was like a car crash. I couldn’t look away. They’d clearly spent the night together, but what did this mean? And would they agree to tell Julian now?

“I’m pretty sure I removed your dress downstairs,” Mr. Kyser said in a casual tone that sounded exactly like his son.

Unable to breathe, I carefully leaned away, pressing my back against the wall outside the door. I was scared to take a step in case they heard me, but I had to get out of here.

Watercolor will be LIVE everywhere Oct. 3!

Cover Reveal for the Queen of Covers!

Happy Monday, reader-friends!

What a FUN weekend we had with the Lucky 13 Sale and Giveaway! THANK YOU to everyone who participated and made it a huge success.

The Giveaway is going on for a few more days, 13 people will win! Go here to enter (link)!

Now for the Cover Reveal.

You all know how much I love my cover-designer, writer-friend extraordinaire Jolene Perry.

She's the genius who made the covers for The Truth About Faking, Rouge, and the Dragonfly series. Just last week, she helped me update the ebook covers for Dragonfly & Undertow to this:

Jolene made us because she's brilliant.

Are those gorgeous or what?

She's the mastermind who created the Watercolor cover, which is absolutely perfect for Anna & Julian's love story...

Well, she's got her first HARDCOVER book coming out from Albert Whitman Teen, and I am so so proud and excited for her!!!

The thing about traditional publishing is they don't let you do your own covers. And for someone as brilliant as Jolene, I imagine that can be pretty scary. I'm happy to say they did a FAB job.

Here it is, and below, I'll tell you how to preorder your copy!

On Goodreads

Kate's dream boyfriend has just broken up with her and she's still reeling from her diagnosis of type 1 diabetes.

Aidan planned on being a "lifer" in the army and went to Iraq straight out of high school. Now he's a disabled young veteran struggling to embrace his new life.

When Kate and Aidan find each other neither one wants to get attached. But could they be right for each other after all?

WATERCOLOR Teaser Tuesday! Last Day to #WIN!

Who's got two thumbs and wants a Watercolor teaser?

This girl!!!

On Goodreads
Here you go:

"I just want you to touch me.” I took his hands and slid them to my waist under my shirt. I pressed my mouth to his and chills followed as his fingers slid lightly over my skin.

I was drowning again as I reached over to his waist, finding the edge of his jeans. I pulled up the soft fabric and lightly touched his bare stomach.

Suddenly he was gone. My lips were still in a pucker, and he was down at the water away from me. I watched as he stripped off his t-shirt and slipped out of his jeans before diving into the dark Gulf waters.

I fell forward, laying my head on my forearm in the sand. "I’m going to kill your parents,” I sighed.

Watercolor will be live everywhere Oct. 3~

Where's My Pirate Costume?

Most of you know I have two little girls. This morning I woke up singing songs from Dora's Pirate Adventure.
Sing with me...
Parents of small children, if you missed this one (featuring John Leguizamo), I highly recommend it. You will be singing these songs for the rest of your life.

To this day, we still finish Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star with "how I wonder what you ate for breakfast."

That led me to wishing I could have a REAL sing-along blog like Dr. Horrible (link)!

Would that rule or what?

I have always loved to sing.

But I tend to suffer from singing stage-fright, so you will rarely catch me onstage singing anywhere. (Unless I've had too much "medicine.")

When I lived in Baldwin County, I worked up the courage to join our small church's choir. A few friends made fun of me for being a "choir girl," but the truth was, I got more out of church being in that choir than from anything else I did.
Get me!

Not sure what that means.

What does all this have to do with anything?

Well, there's a lot of serious stuff going on in the world this week. I for one am a little weirded out by how much history seems to be repeating itself. (Great Depression followed by WWII, the majority of the country not wanting to get involved...)

Some people believe you can't be serious and lighthearted at the same time. But I have a tendency to get too serious, reader-friends.

I have to throw in some lightness in the mix so I don't lose it.

That thought gave me an idea for a scene in a book I'm working on. It's about looking ahead to how things will be once the bad thing has passed...

My hero tells our heroine a game he liked to play as a child. He would think of his favorite thing to do, and then he would tell himself that was what he'd do when whatever he was afraid of was over.

I confess, the idea grew from that part in L O S T where Jack tells Kate about allowing the fear in for five seconds. Really being afraid for those five seconds, and then letting it go and getting the job done.

Powerful thing, the mind...

It's going to be in the 90s here this week, but then the 70s by Friday. I think we should all imagine dressing up and doing a big Dora's Pirate Adventure sing-along on Saturday. Or Teen Beach Movie. Whatever floats your ship... or surfboard.

Quick Reminders:

Happy Birthday FAKING! Come #WIN Presents!!!

It's hard to believe one year ago today The Truth About Faking went live on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Kobo...

I was so inexperienced, I didn't know how to get it on iTunes because I didn't have a Mac. (It's there now!)

I was able to make paperbacks thanks to my background in publishing...

It's now in audiobook format (link)...

Many great books came out around the same time, and I was proud to share a spot in Amazon's Top Ten with them. Honestly, I didn't think anybody other than my parents, close family, and a few close friends would buy my book.

In one year, my first little book has sold more than 40,000 copies worldwide.

That's seriously hard for me to believe, reader-friends. It makes me a little teary-eyed, and so so thankful to you, to God, to my family and friends. It's been a wild, fun learning experience, and NONE of it would be possible without YOU!

So to celebrate, I'm giving YOU Birthday Presents! Some great writer-friends are joining me to celebrate, and you have TEN chances to WIN!

It's my way of saying a HUGE THANK YOU!!!

For reading, smiling, swooning, supporting, and making this publishing journey of mine so fun and interesting.

MUAH!!!

First Kiss & #99cent #LOVE

Happy Labor Day, reader-friends! (I know, it's not a holiday for everyone... sorry.)

You all know I LOVE kissing stories, so when my great writer-friend Cindy Hogan asked if I'd help spread the word about her new serial, "Confessions of a 16-Year-Old Virgin Lips," I was like, "Ye-YAY!"

Is that the most fun title or what? The first installment is called First Kiss, and here's the scoop...

On Amazon
VL. Virgin Lips. You may not have heard of it, but where I live, it’s a thing with a card, even if it is a figurative card. I was Brooklyn Hill, certified virgin lips, and I planned on clinging to that figurative card with all I had—while dating as many of the hottest guys at school as I could.

Maybe that’s a bit strange. I mean, what teenage girl isn’t interested in kissing? Locking lips definitely interested me, but the drama that came with it didn’t. No kissing, no drama. Simple.

But on my sixteenth birthday, on my first real date even, the drama found me. His name was Luke Graham—cute, funny, and bad news for the whole female race.

Get it today - Only 99 cents on Amazon (link)!

Here's a short excerpt:

We all laughed and ran outside and stormed the hot tub.
After the obligatory splashing and dunking settled down, Parker jutted his chin at me and teased. “You’re sixteen now, Brooklyn, the question is, are you still in the VL club?”
A strange silence fell over the group. I guess they really wanted to hear my response. I paused just long enough to give the answer away. I looked up, noticing a few stars speckled the skyline.
“Oooh,” Mike said. “’nough said. Well, my dear, your pain will now be over.” He moved toward me, lips puckered, eye brows waggling. I turned my head before he could make contact. My whole body was on fire.
Ali and Katherine, my two red-headed friends, pushed him back. “Down boy. Unlike you, she wants her first kiss to be special, meaningful, and with someone she wants to kiss. So, back off.” Ali could be forceful when she wanted to be. I loved and hated that about her.
He whimpered like a wounded dog as he sat back in his spot.
“Buurrrn!” Mike yelled.
“Burn, baby, burn,” Parker sang.

Love it! Remember to run out and get your copy!

Quick Note: Watercolor is coming... and Dragonfly is also only 99 cents on Amazon or Barnes & Noble!
