I'm over at the Burrow today reviewing Kathryn Stockett's debut novel The Help and talking about how as writers we have a unique opportunity to impact the way people think and possibly behave.
Run over and check it out. (link) I'll be interested to hear your thoughts!

On my way ...
Thank you for the excellent review, Leigh.
I started reading the book today, and am struck by how much it reminded me of my favourite book (To Kill a Mockingbird). Just two chapters into the book, but I am already drawing parallels with India Today ;-)
Going to check it out now.

Great review, thanks for the link!
Oh cool! Be right over!
Heading over now!

I was just over there! :)
Going over.
Thanks, guys! And Rayna, that's really cool. It's interesting how certain human behaviors can be universal. Thanks again for asking me to do this~ :o) <3
Ahh, great point. we can have a great deal of power...I'm going now!
Sounds cool. I'm hopping over!
@Tracy-it's easy to forget or lose sight of. At least for me~ :o)
Thanks, Mel~ :o) <3
Great review! That's a lot how I feel about The Mockingbirds. I was afraid because the story centered around a date rape scenario that it would come across as preachy, but that was soooo not the case. I agree that the best books are the ones that open our eyes a little.
Thanks, Tracy! I'd probably be a little hesitant w/Mockingbirds, too. Since becoming a mother of two little girls, I've discovered my reaction to things has really changed. :p
But you're so right about what makes books "best"~ <3
I'll head over there today! =)
Going there today...a day late. Sorry :-(
